FG Assures N-Power 8-Month Debt To Be Paid Soon

The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation has reassured N-Power beneficiaries that the 8-month debt, held by the consultant, will be settled promptly.

Akindele Eghuwalo, the National Programme Manager of N-Power, conveyed this announcement following a meeting with representatives of the N-Power beneficiaries.

“The good news is that the funds have been successfully recovered, and you will soon receive your overdue payments,” he stated.

Eghuwalo further disclosed that Dr. Betta Edu, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, has been diligently addressing irregularities within the program and other social investment initiatives.

“These irregularities have eroded the public’s confidence in the government’s ability to provide social safety nets, but Dr. Betta Edu is actively taking measures to resolve these issues and fulfill President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Mandate for Nigerians,” he assured.

“Numerous issues that had hindered the program’s smooth implementation are being rectified. Upon assuming office, it was noted that many beneficiaries were not receiving their monthly allowances, and funds were being held by the consultant responsible for managing the enrollment and payment system, despite their contract having expired. The good news is that the funds have been recovered, allowing for the beneficiaries to be paid.”

These are among the irregularities that the Honorable Minister is determined to resolve to establish a solid foundation for the expansion of the Renewed Hope N-POWER program, which aims to reach 5 million young Nigerians.

The National Programme Manager urged young Nigerians to be patient, as the restructuring is in their best interest and will pave the way for the program’s expansion to accommodate millions of young people.

“President Tinubu is unwavering in his commitment to poverty eradication, and he will deliver on this promise,” he added.
