The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has clinched the prestigious “Nigeria GovTech Awards” for Best Federal MDA in Sustainable ICT Infrastructure, solidifying its position as a leader in this field among federal ministries, departments, and agencies.
The award was bestowed upon NYSC during the 2023 Nigeria GovTech Awards ceremony, which took place at the International Conference Centre in Abuja.
Brigadier General Y.D. Ahmed, the Director General of NYSC, was also recognized as a “Distinguished Govtech Trailblazer.”
These accolades were the result of a transparent and objective nationwide online voting process, initiated through radio, television, and newspaper publications. This process was coordinated by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms in the Presidency.
While accepting the awards, Brig Gen Ahmed, represented by NYSC’s Director of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Mrs. Christy Uba, expressed gratitude for the recognition. He described the awards as a clear endorsement and appreciation of NYSC’s sustained improvement in IT services provided to stakeholders and the general public.
Furthermore, Brig Gen Ahmed emphasized NYSC’s commitment to leveraging ICT tools to enhance its operations in alignment with global best practices.
