BREAKING: Demonstrators Converge On Supreme Court As Verdicts Unfold

Presently, a group of demonstrators has gathered around the Supreme Court, the location for the pivotal decision regarding the 2023 presidential election.

The highest judicial body had scheduled Thursday, October 26, as the date to pronounce judgments on the petitions filed by Peter Obi (Labour Party) and Atiku Abubakar (PDP) against President Bola Tinubu (APC).

Obi and Atiku have contested the outcome of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal, which upheld Tinubu’s election on September 6, dismissing both cases on the grounds of lack of merit.

During Monday’s hearing, Atiku sought the court’s consideration of new evidence related to allegations of forgery against Tinubu.

The Supreme Court, however, postponed its decisions on both matters.

Outside the court on Thursday, protestors could be observed singing songs of solidarity while displaying placards, banners, and various protest paraphernalia.
