Tinubu Sends 2 Ministers To Ogun For Assessment

The Federal Government has taken swift action in response to the flooding crisis in the Isheri community of Ogun State. The Minister of State for Environment, Isiaq Salako, and the Water Resources and Sanitation Minister, Prof. Joseph Utsev, have led a government delegation to conduct an on-site assessment of the affected area.

Accompanied by Governor Dapo Abiodun and other government officials, the ministers visited the troubled Isheri community. This comes after Governor Abiodun declared a state of emergency in the area due to widespread flooding, displacing numerous residents.

During their visit, the ministers offered assurance of a permanent solution to the ongoing flood challenges plaguing the Isheri community. Minister Salako emphasized that plans were already in motion to address the recurring flood issues in the area, recognizing the importance of a lasting remedy.

While acknowledging the global impact of climate change, the minister stressed that some effects could not be reversed. He urged residents to adopt responsible environmental practices to mitigate future risks.
