Aisha Yesufu Blasts Goodluck Jonathan’s Villa Visit

Prominent socio-political activist, Aisha Yesufu, has voiced her disapproval of former President Goodluck Jonathan’s recent visit to President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Jonathan’s presence at the Villa was linked to his congratulations to President Tinubu following the Supreme Court’s verdict affirming his election. After a closed-door meeting with Tinubu, Jonathan called for past presidents to come together and devise solutions to uplift the masses from poverty, emphasizing that election-related matters were in the past, and it was time to support Tinubu.

However, Aisha Yesufu strongly criticized Jonathan, remarking, “Jonathan still sees himself as that child without shoes.” She suggested that this situation was a perfect example of the law of the “lid” playing out, pointing out that Jonathan had made Buhari an option, even though he had defeated Buhari in the 2011 election.

Yesufu further mentioned that some people had romanticized Jonathan’s administration and perceived Buhari’s failures as transforming him into a hero he never truly was. This comment highlights the ongoing debates and differing opinions surrounding past Nigerian leaders and their legacies.
