APC Media And Publicity Director Dies In Boat Accident

The Director of Media and Publicity for the Bayelsa State All Progressives Congress Gubernatorial Campaign Council, Peremobowei Tukuwei, tragically lost his life in a boat accident.

The incident occurred during the party’s campaign visit to Okoroma in Nembe Local Government Area en route to Ogbia in Ogbia LGA on Wednesday.

Regrettably, Tukuwei was the sole fatality among the individuals on the ill-fated boat. He hailed from the Ekeremor LGA of the state.

After a collaborative search by marine search parties and relevant authorities, Tukuwei’s lifeless body was recovered late on Thursday.

Tukuwei had previously worked with Africa Independent Television before his appointment as the media and publicity director of the state APC campaign council for the governorship election scheduled for November 11, 2023.

In light of this tragic event, the state APC chairman, Dennis Otiotio, has announced the suspension of campaigning by the council on Thursday.

The statement reads, “The Bayelsa State APC Governorship Campaign Council regrets to announce the suspension of our campaigns scheduled for October 26, 2023, in Nembe-Ogbolomabiri and Nembe-Bassambiri.”
