Tinubu Appoints Top EFCC Prosecutor, Six Others As Justice Minister’s Aides

President Bola Tinubu has made several appointments, including Rotimi Oyedepo, a prominent prosecutor from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and six other individuals, who will serve as aides within the Federal Ministry of Justice in Abuja. These appointees will work under the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

The list of appointees includes:

1. Kamarudeen Ogundele, appointed as the special assistant to the President on communication and publicity. He is a well-known journalist, currently serving as the group news editor at the Daily Trust newspaper in Abuja.

2. Hussein Oloyede, named special assistant on arbitration, drafting, and regulations. He holds an LLB degree from Bayero University Kano and is an experienced legal professional with a background in public and private sectors.

3. Rotimi Oyedepo (SAN), designated as a special assistant on financial crimes and public prosecution compliance. Mr. Oyedepo is a high-flying prosecutor from the EFCC, known for his significant achievements in securing forfeitures linked to high-profile corruption cases.

4. Monsurat Gafar, appointed as a special assistant on coordination and intergovernmental agency relations. She has a diverse professional background with experience in both Nigeria and the UK.

5. Marcus-Obiene Fernández, serving as a special assistant on justice sector reforms and ICT/digital and innovative technology. He specializes in technology-related dispute resolution and holds degrees in law and LegalTech.

6. Ahmed Wada, named a special assistant on special duties, and Tolu Obamuroh, who serves as a technical adviser on oil and gas, arbitration, and international disputes.

These appointments reflect President Tinubu’s commitment to strengthening the Ministry of Justice and addressing inter-agency rivalry among law enforcement institutions. With their diverse backgrounds and expertise, these individuals will play vital roles in advancing the government’s anti-corruption agenda.
