APC Tasks Tunubu, Ganduje To Review Reward System For Loyal Party Members

A group of dedicated All Progressives Congress (APC) members in Bauchi State, operating under the banner of the APC Concerned Group, has called upon President Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and the party’s national chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, to reevaluate the reward system. Their appeal is to prioritize and recognize those who have displayed unwavering loyalty and actively contributed to the party’s success.

Members of the APC Concerned Group expressed their dissatisfaction, emphasizing that they feel overlooked. They assert that numerous federal appointments have been made, but individuals who made significant sacrifices for the party have been neglected.

At a press conference held in Abuja, Comrade Adullahi Dauda Little, the national spokesperson of the APC Concerned Group, made a claim that certain appointees from Bauchi State were disloyal during the 2023 General election.

“We have reviewed our history to underline our point that as members and supporters of the APC in Bauchi State, we feel shortchanged by the party’s current reward system. Several federal appointments have been made, yet those who devoted themselves to the party’s cause have been left out. Even when the President made some appointments from Bauchi, he selected individuals who actively worked against the APC during the previous election.”

“There is a growing suspicion that the party might have made compromises with the opposition that disadvantage Bauchi State. Unless this is the case, we expect the President and our party leaders to show more interest in nurturing the party’s growth in the state.”

“At present, we lack a leadership that is committed to reclaiming our stolen governorship mandate. We are pursuing an appeal, but we have not received sufficient support from Abuja. It appears that our party has failed to learn from the mistakes of the past eight years, during which individuals who did not share the APC’s progressive vision were entrusted with significant responsibilities and disappointed both the party and the Nigerian people. If current trends continue, history is poised to repeat itself.”

Comrade Little, speaking as a dedicated APC member, outlined recommendations to rectify the situation. “First and foremost, we demand a restructuring of the party’s organizational structure in Bauchi, even if it necessitates the establishment of a caretaker committee led by competent and responsible leaders.”

“It is also imperative for the President to provide opportunities for those who genuinely worked for him and the party during the last election. This is the only way to foster unwavering loyalty.”

“We advocate for a review of the reward system within our party, with an emphasis on recognizing those who have been loyal and instrumental in the party’s success. We firmly believe that there are capable individuals among us with the requisite qualifications.”

“It is disheartening that after winning the electoral battle, individuals comfortably residing overseas are simply brought back to the country and appointed in the name of technocrats. Action should be taken promptly to prevent potential repercussions. As the saying goes, ‘a stitch in time saves nine.’ Those who have ears, let them hear.”
