President Bola Tinubu has cautioned government officials and family members about attending Federal Executive Council (FEC) meetings without official invitations. This warning was delivered by Tinubu at the commencement of the FEC meeting in the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Monday.
Tinubu voiced his concern about unauthorized access to the council meetings, citing an incident from the previous week. He emphasized that it was not acceptable for individuals to have access to these meetings without proper authorization. Tinubu specified the names of those permitted to attend these meetings.
He outlined that only specific individuals, including Hadiza Usman, Special Adviser on Policy Coordination, Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, Principal Private Secretary, and Damilotun Aderemi, Private Secretary, were allowed to participate in these important sessions. The President made it clear that unless he personally extended an invitation, others should not attend.
Tinubu directed the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, and the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Folashade Yemi-Esan, to ensure his directive was followed. He emphasized the need for precise planning and adherence to protocols in government events.
While reiterating his faith in the integrity of his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, Tinubu addressed the ongoing speculations and disinformation. He emphasized the importance of putting an end to campaigns of calumny and unfounded insinuations.
