BREAKING: Oyo Governor Increases Salary Of ₦25,000 For Workers

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has unveiled a substantial wage increase for workers and pensioners in the state, with workers set to receive ₦25,000 and pensioners ₦15,000.

The governor has committed to providing this salary boost for a duration of six months, incurring an additional ₦2.2 billion expense to the state’s wage bill.

Governor Makinde made this announcement while addressing a gathering of labor leaders, including Comrade Kayode Martins (NLC), Comrade Bosun Olabiyi (TUC), and Comrade Olaonipekun Oluwaseun (JNC Public Sector), at the entrance of the Governor’s Office in Secretariat, Ibadan.

Several government officials, such as Special Adviser (Labour Matters) Comrade Adebayo Titilola-Sodo and the Executive Assistant to the governor, Reverend Idowu Ogedengbe, were also present alongside the governor during this significant announcement.

The workers had mobilized and congregated at the Governor’s Office following a decision made during a Congress on Monday, with the aim of resolving this long-standing issue.
