APC Support Groups Urge NLC To Abandon Planned Strike

The Confederation of All Progressives Congress (APC) Support Groups has made a heartfelt plea to the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) to reconsider their proposed nationwide strike.

Kailani Muhammed, the Director-General of the group, conveyed this appeal in a statement issued in Abuja on Monday.

Muhammed emphasized the potential disruptions to the country’s economy and social democratic processes that may arise from such a strike.

“We are earnestly appealing to the NLC, representing the collective interests of Nigerian workers, to reconsider their decision regarding the planned strike in response to the physical assault on NLC President, Comrade Joe Ajaero, in Imo State,” stated the Director-General.

“We firmly believe that the NLC is well aware of the far-reaching consequences of this strike, more than anyone else,” Muhammed continued.

He pointed out the adverse effects that the strike could have on the nation, including potential economic derailment and chaos due to the interruption of economic activities throughout the country.

“The ordinary citizens on the streets, whom the NLC strives to protect, will be disproportionately affected. This is because the already high cost of goods and services could skyrocket to unprecedented levels,” he added.

Muhammed concluded by stressing the urgency of their appeal, both as concerned citizens and as dedicated democrats with a primary focus on the welfare of the Nigerian nation.
