Presidency power play: President Tinubu Unleashes New Leaders at NUPRC

President Tinubu has given the green light to the appointment of three new Executive Commissioners to bolster the ranks of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC). Additionally, there has been a significant redeployment of one existing Executive Commissioner, with all actions pending confirmation by the Nigerian Senate.

The newly appointed Executive Commissioners are as follows:

(1) Mr. Bashir Indabawa, representing the NW region, assumes the role of Executive Commissioner for Exploration & Acreage Management.

(2) Dr. Kelechi Ofoegbu, hailing from the SE region, has been redeployed as the Executive Commissioner for Corporate Services & Administration.

(3) Mr. Enorense Amadasu, representing the SS region, takes on the role of Executive Commissioner for Development & Production.

(4) Mr. Babajide Fasina, from the SW region, has been appointed as the Executive Commissioner for Economic Regulation & Strategic Planning.

This move by President Tinubu marks a significant development in the leadership and strategic restructuring within the NUPRC, aimed at furthering the commission’s goals and responsibilities in the Nigerian upstream petroleum sector. It now awaits the Senate’s confirmation to solidify these crucial appointments and changes.
