Buratai Advocates Implementation Of Reward System For Security Personnel

A former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai (retd.), has advocated for the implementation of a reward system by the Federal Government to recognize and appreciate the efforts of security agents in the country. Buratai conveyed this message during an award ceremony organized by Our Nigeria News on Sunday night in Abuja.

Emphasizing the importance of a reward system, he asserted that it would serve as a motivational tool, encouraging heightened commitment and loyalty among security personnel. The former Army Chief highlighted the necessity of such measures to effectively address insecurity and propel the nation towards progress.

Buratai stated, “In every institution, there should be a reward system. This is a way of motivating individuals to give their best to the country and identifying committed and loyal citizens. More commitment, dedication, and loyalty are needed for the nation to move forward.”

Acknowledging the awardees from the security sector, he underlined the significance of recognition as a means to bolster their resolve in addressing the prevailing security challenges in the country. Additionally, Buratai urged patience from Nigerians toward President Bola Tinubu, assuring them that the current hardships would soon be alleviated.

He affirmed, “We should still have hope. He has assured us of renewed hope. I call on Nigerians not to lose hope and to be patient; there is light at the end of the tunnel. We will reach that promised land.”

Notable awardees included Oba Hammeed Makama, Olowu of Owu-Kuta Kingdom; Major General AA Tarfa (retd.); Maj-Gen. Victor Ezugwu (retd.); Mamma Murtala, Director DSS Borno State, and Late SP. Dr. Bako Angbasim, among others.
