Troops of Joint Task Force, Operation Haderin Daji, Northwest (OPHD) have neutralized two terrorists and rescued five kidnapped victims, including a child in an intensive clearance operation in Zamfara State.
This was contained in a statement issued to newsmen in Gusau, the State capital on Friday, by the spokesman of Operation Hadarin Daji, Captain Yahaya Ibrahim.
The statement added that the troops carried out a coordinated clearance operation on terrorists’ dens on November 16 and 17 at Tugan Gama, Tugan Hausawa, Tugan Nabaru, Yarsabia and Daji Yanayin Kari communities in Anka Local Government Area of the State.
“During the operation, troops encountered and neutralised two armed terrorists while others escaped with various degrees of gunshot injuries.
“Similarly, troops responded swiftly and timely to a distress call of armed bandits’ attack on Yarkoria community in Wuya District, Anka Local Government Area of the State.
“The troops’ superior firepower forced the terrorists to abandon the kidnapped victims and escape.
“Five victims, which include a child, two females and three males, were successfully rescued and reunited with their families,” the statement added.
