In a shocking turn of events, unidentified gunmen launched an assault on the Adamawa State Police Headquarters situated in Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area, during the early hours of Wednesday.
Confirming the incident, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, assured the public that the situation was swiftly brought under control. Nguroje emphasized, “The attack was repelled, yet the identities of the assailants remain unknown.”
While details emerged, a confidential source suggested that the assailants might have been military personnel seeking retribution following an alleged confrontation resulting in the death of a military officer involving the police.
At present, there’s ambiguity surrounding the involvement of military personnel. However, ongoing police investigations aim to uncover the motives behind the attack and identify those responsible for this brazen assault on the police headquarters.
