Wike Discloses Reasons For Halting His 2027 Contest Against Tinubu

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared that he won’t compete against President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, emphasizing his commitment to Tinubu’s administration.

Wike attributed his support to the pursuit of justice and underscored the importance of maintaining good character in politics.

He stated that Tinubu’s role in appointing him as FCT minister solidified his loyalty, asserting that he won’t jeopardize their political structure.

Wike addressed challenges, including threats and alleged interference by Major Generals, highlighting his stand against injustice.

Referring to his conflict with Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Wike cautioned about assessing individuals based on power and money, expressing disappointment in Fubara’s actions.

Despite facing allegations, Wike urged gratitude and emphasized his achievements as the Rivers State governor, notably addressing pensioners’ gratuity, an initiative not undertaken by his predecessor.
