Former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido has made a stark declaration, asserting that President Bola Tinubu is leading Nigerians towards their demise. In an interview with the Daily Trust newspaper, the ex-Foreign Affairs Minister criticized Tinubu’s intentions to follow in Buhari’s footsteps, highlighting the concerning continuation of existing issues.
He challenged Tinubu’s pledge to pick up where Buhari left off, questioning whether it meant perpetuating insecurity, poverty, or hunger. Lamido underlined Tinubu’s apparent commitment to continuing Buhari’s policies across various critical domains like the economy, security, corruption, human rights, and more.
Expressing his longstanding skepticism since the 2015 elections, Lamido lamented Buhari’s alleged lack of political acumen and vision. He painted a bleak picture, suggesting that Tinubu’s promise to continue the trajectory set by Buhari signifies a path leading the nation towards a destination marked by poverty, hunger, insecurity, despair, and ultimately, the grave.
