ASUU Pledges Support To ZSUBEB For Advancing Basic Education In Zamfara

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Federal University Gusau chapter in Zamfara State, has assured Prof. Nasir Garba Anka, the Executive Chairman of Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board (ZSUBEB), of their commitment to working together to address challenges hindering the development of basic education in the state.

This affirmation was conveyed in a press statement issued in Gusau, the state capital, by Ibrahim Musa Maizare, the Public Relations Officer of ZSUBEB.

During a courtesy visit to congratulate Prof. Nasir Garba Anka on his recent appointment as the Chairman of the Board, Comrade Dr. Abdulrahman, the Chairman of the ASUU Chapter, expressed the union’s support. Dr. Abdulrahman highlighted the significance of the visit, considering Prof. Anka’s pivotal role as the pioneer chairman of the union for three consecutive tenures, during which he established a strong foundation and left enduring legacies.

Dr. Abdulrahman described Prof. Nasir Anka as a man of integrity, vision, and exceptional leadership qualities, emphasizing the union’s readiness to provide necessary support and cooperation for the success of his new assignment. He advised Prof. Anka to inclusively involve everyone in his leadership and thanked the state Governor, Dr. Dauda Lawali, for the opportunity given to Prof. Anka to serve under his administration.

In response, Prof. Nasiru Garba Anka expressed gratitude for the visit and affirmed his commitment to inclusive leadership, acknowledging the union’s vital role as a stakeholder in education. He concluded by expressing the board’s continued reliance on the union’s contributions and advice for the excellence of basic education in the state.
