Zamfara Assembly Urges Investigation into Security Personnel, Vigilante Groups Activities

In its today’s Plenary, the State House of Assembly has deliberated and called on the State Commissioner of Police to investigate the activities of his Personnels and Vigilante Groups along Wanke Magami and Dansadau Road.

In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary, to Zamfara State House of Assembly, Belllo Madaro Kurya. According to the statement, the Motion Presented by a Member representing Maru North, Hon Nasiru Abdullahi Maru, and seconded by Hon Yakuba Almajir Bela representing Bungudu East Constituency.

Presenting the Motion, Hon Nasiru Maru said there is allegation by his constituents that some security Personnels and Vigilante Groups are harassing people while trying to conduct their business and other day to day engagement along Wanke Magami Dansadau Road.

He called on the House to draw the attention of Zamfara State Commissioner of Police to investigate the matter considering that the action is affecting innocent people while conducting their business activities particularly on Market days.

In their Contribution, Members representing Gusau Two, Gummi, and Tsafe West Hon Ibrahim Garba Liman Fegin Mahe, Hon Adamu Aliyu Gummi, and Hon Amiru Ahmad Keta stressed the need for the State Commissioner of Police to immediately investigate the matter saying similar report was received from some places across the state.

Later, the Speaker Right Honourable Bilyaminu Ismail Moriki announced that the House has deliberated and called on the State Commissioner of Police to Investigate the activities of his Personnels and Vigilante Groups along Wanke Magami Dansadau Road.

Similarly the House today deliberated and called on the State government to upgrade Primary Health Care Jangebe in Talata Mafara local government area to the Status of General Hospital.

Motion to that effect was presented by the Minority leader and Member representing Mafara South Hon Aliyu Ango Kagara.

Hon Aliyu Ango Kagara said the facility pocessed the required structure which will assist the State government in Upgrading it to the Status of General Hospital.

Kagara said the gesture if approved will improve Health Care delivery of the area, and neighbouring local government areas.

Another Motion for the Construction of Earth Dam in Damri, Gamji and Nasarawa in Bakura local government was raised.

Member representing Bakura Ibrahim T Tukur presented the Motion, adding that if constructed the Three Earth Dams will improve irrigation Farming system and Economy of the State.

Members that blessed the two separate Motions were Majority leader, and Member representing Tsafe East Constituency Hon Bello Muhd Mazawaje Tsafe, Hon Ibrahim B Ibrahim representing Gusau one, Hon Rilwanu Marafa Nagambo Anka,, Hon Nasiru Abdullahi Maru North Hon Yakuba Almajir Bela representing Bungudu East, Hon Faruku Musa Dosara, Maradun One, as well as Hon Maharazu Salisu Faru Maradun Two.
