Police Arrest Kano Governor’s Aide Over Alleged Diversion Of Palliatives

The Kano State Police Command has verified the apprehension of Tasiu Al’amin-Roba, a Senior Special Assistant to Governor Abba Yusuf, and Abdulkadir Muhammad for their alleged involvement in diverting the state’s palliatives.

Commissioner of Police Hussaini Gumel, in a telephone interview on Sunday with the News Agency of Nigeria, confirmed that the suspects were seized at a warehouse in Sharada, where over 200 empty bags were discovered.

He stated that the suspects were purportedly repackaging rice and maize at the Sharada warehouse.

“We have initiated a thorough investigation to determine the extent of maize or rice repackaging and subsequent sale,” Gumel asserted.

The Commissioner affirmed that after the completion of discreet investigations, the two suspects would face charges in court.
