Tragedy struck in Tudun Biri village, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, as the death toll soared to 120 following the accidental bombing by the Nigerian Army. Survivors recounted being bombed twice during a visit by Amnesty International officials, confirming the grim escalation in fatalities.

Initially confirmed at 85 dead and 66 injured, the toll rose significantly, compelling emergency authorities to continue the search for survivors. President Bola Tinubu ordered an investigation after the army acknowledged its drone’s accidental strike during a local festival, although no specific casualty figures were provided.

Expressing deep sorrow and distress over the loss of lives, President Tinubu deemed the incident tragic and unfortunate. Governor Uba Sani also mandated a comprehensive investigation into the devastating occurrence, vowing to prioritize citizen security in the ongoing fight against criminal elements.

Issuing condolences to Tudun Biri’s affected community, the governor pledged to prevent such tragedies in the future. The Kaduna State Government undertook the immediate evacuation of the injured to Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital, ensuring their medical care and associated needs.
