Kidnapping: Why Zamfara Political Elites Should Cease Feud – Shehu Sani

Shehu Sani, the former senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the Nigerian senate, has issued a heartfelt plea to political actors in Zamfara State, urging them to set aside their political differences and collaborate to secure the release of 30 students from the Federal University, Gusau, who were abducted by bandits two months ago.

Deputy Governor Mani Mummuni of Zamfara State, during a visit to the university to express sympathy to the affected families and school authorities, appealed to security agencies to expedite the rescue of the kidnapped students.

Yazid Abubakar, the spokesperson for the Zamfara State Police Command, assured the public in a press statement that the command is committed to ensuring the safe rescue of all the abducted students.

In a passionate tweet on Friday, Senator Shehu Sani emphasized the dire situation faced by the kidnapped girls, stating, “The Girls’ Student hostages of the Zamfara kidnappings are suffering in the hands of terrorists. The life and dignity of those girls are at stake. The horror of sleeping and waking up as captives of a terrorist in the wild is unimaginable.”

Sani continued, “Their parents are crying, and in the name of Allah, the Zamfara political elites should suspend their political differences and work together to free these girl students and youth corpers languishing in the den of terrorists in Zamfara.”

This urgent appeal underscores the need for unity and collective action to address the grave situation and ensure the swift and safe return of the kidnapped students.
