Zamfara State Government, through the Zamfara State Housing Corporation, has expressed dissatisfaction with the current state of Daza, Gidan Dawa Housing Estate in Gusau. Dr. Jamilu Jibo Magayaki, the Managing Director/CEO of Zamfara State Housing Corporation, conveyed these sentiments during an inspection visit to the newly constructed housing estates.
Dr. Magayaki voiced his disappointment, labeling the allocation of substandard houses to Zamfara State Civil Servants as unfortunate and unpatriotic, especially considering the high cost charged by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Zamfara State chapter. He assured the estate occupants that the Corporation, in collaboration with the state Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, would make every effort to enhance the conditions of the houses to meet acceptable standards under the leadership of Governor Dauda Lawal.
Furthermore, Dr. Magayaki pledged to investigate the responsible constructors who executed the project, emphasizing that appropriate actions would be taken to address the matter. He commended the estate occupants for their maturity and understanding during the inspection visit, urging them to continue supporting Governor Dr. Dauda Lawal’s administration through their prayers.
Alhaji Ahmad Ibrahim Gusau, the Estate Committee chairman, expressed gratitude to Dr. Jamilu Jibo Magayaki Kaurar Namoda and his management team for the inspection visit. He highlighted various challenges faced by the estate inhabitants, including the high cost of houses, poor roofing, subpar construction, and the absence of basic amenities such as roads, water supply, and electricity.
Alhaji Ahmad Ibrahim Gusau called on the State Government to address these issues promptly, with a focus on reducing the hardships faced by the estate residents. In addition, the Estate Committee Public Relations Officer, Malam Jamilu Bello Mai Kaji Gusau, reiterated the commitment of the occupants to pray for the success of Governor Dauda Lawal’s rescue mission.
The visit by the Managing Director was attended by the Corporation Secretary, Mustapha Rafi Gumi, Directors, Staff, and numerous estate occupants, among others.
