Breaking: Nigeria to Manufacture Weapons, Reducing Dependency

In a groundbreaking announcement, the Department of State Services (DSS) has unveiled its ambitious plan to initiate the domestic manufacturing of weapons, encompassing AK-47s, drones, and various other arms in the forthcoming months. During the graduation ceremony of the Executive Intelligence Management Course 16 participants in Abuja, DSS Director-General Yusuf Bichi made this significant revelation.

Bichi emphasized that this strategic move aims to reduce the country’s dependency on foreign nations for weaponry procurement and the substantial financial resources allocated to such acquisitions. He underlined the future deployment of these indigenous weapons across the nation once the plans come to fruition.

Addressing the gathering, Bichi pledged unwavering support for training programs, emphasized the welfare of the DSS staff (both active and retired), and reiterated the organization’s focus on research and development. He cryptically expressed the imminent shift towards self-sufficiency, highlighting the impending deployment of locally produced assets, including Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and AK-47s, which he metaphorically referred to as “eating what we produce.”

Furthermore, Bichi affirmed the DSS’s commitment to furnish credible intelligence to other security agencies, expressing gratitude to partners for their collaborative efforts. He acknowledged the military and police for their cooperation in counter-terrorism and insurgency operations across various regions and pledged to sustain these efforts for the benefit of the populace.
