Bauchi State Government under the leadership of Senator Bala Mohammad Jagaban Katagum has been described as the most gender friendly and inclusive since the creation of the state in 1976.
The statement was made by the State President of NCWS Hajiya Jummai Liman Bello in a press release made available to journalists in Bauchi, while commemorating the 16 days of activism against gender based violence campaign which marked globally on the 25th of November to 10th December, 2023.
Liman Bello highlighted that women and Youth are given the opportunity to serve in policy decision making positions preparing them for a better future in leadership.
She noted that, gender based violence is a pervasive issue that affects millions of individuals worldwide, with women and girls being greatly affected as well
Jummai said the call has becomes necessary for NCWS to call for the urgent need to invest in female capacity as a fundamental strategy in addressing gender based violence.
Furthermore, she noted that investing in education, leadership, development, skills training and entrepreneurship for women and girls a more equitable while the society can be created and incidences of violence and discrimination will be minimal among people
