Fearing the ongoing bandit attacks, residents in Yewuti village, part of the Kwali area council in Abuja, are leaving their homes. Reports reveal that the village was attacked by bandits who abducted eight individuals on November 18.
Among those kidnapped was the father of the council’s vice chairman. However, on December 2, the bandits released the vice chairman’s father along with two others after collecting a ransom of N5 million. Sadly, one of the abductees was later found killed.
A family member, choosing to remain anonymous, disclosed that the victims were freed on Friday. Shuaibu Aliyu, a resident, mentioned that the community, especially women and children, has fled to nearby villages like Awawa, Abaji, Yangoji, and Kwali town.
