Breaking: All Abducted Female Students from Nigerian University Rescued.

In a resounding relief, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Armayau Hamisu Bichi, officially confirmed to SaharaReporters the safe release of all abducted female students from Federal University Dutsinma, Katsina State. The disturbing incident, originating from an invasion on October 4, 2023, saw terrorists storming the students’ private lodge near Moriamoh Ajiri School at Dutsin-Ma, resulting in the kidnapping of five female students.

Details uncovered later revealed that three of the abducted students hailed from Kwara State, identified as Muhammad Fatima, Bello Fatima Zara, and Adam Rahmatallahi, while the others were from Kano and Niger States, with their identities yet to be verified at the time of this report.

Amidst the harrowing experience, one of the kidnapped students, Muhammad Fatima Ruqqayat, was freed on November 20, 2023, after an agonizing 45-day captivity. Her release was reported by SaharaReporters, citing ransom payment as the means of her liberation from the terrorists’ clutches.

However, in the recent confirmation of the remaining four students’ release, Prof. Bichi did not disclose whether any ransom was paid for their freedom. This incident sheds light on the ongoing security concerns and challenges faced by students within the region.
