Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has stunned the political sphere by announcing his retirement from active political engagement. Citing an increasing sensitivity or, as he put it, a growing “allergy” to the demanding nature of political engagements, Adamu declared his exit during the launch of “Progressive Governance.” This book highlights the notable accomplishments of Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule and was authored by Abdullahi Tanimu.
During this event, Adamu showcased his finality regarding his political career by unveiling 20 copies of the book, each priced at 1 million Naira. Expressing his sentiments, he stated, “I am not just retiring; I am completely stepping away from politics. I find myself developing an aversion to political activities and speeches. Hence, I seek forgiveness as I refrain from making any political statements, except to appeal for increased support for the state governor.”
In a heartfelt plea, he emphasized the governor’s need for support, urging prayers and goodwill to ensure his success. Adamu’s decision follows his earlier resignation in July from the APC chairmanship, marking a definitive end to his tenure within the party’s top ranks. His unexpected departure due to health-related concerns has left many within the political arena and beyond taken aback by this unforeseen turn of events.
