Nigeria Police Force Screening Commences – Invitation Printing Instructions Revealed

In a groundbreaking move, the Police Recruitment Board has officially scheduled January 8, 2024, as the commencement date for the rigorous screening of successful candidates vying for positions in the Constable cadre of the Nigeria Police Force.

The decisive decisions were made during the Board’s meeting on Thursday, December 21st, at the Corporate Headquarters of the Police Service Commission in Jabi, Abuja, marking a crucial milestone in the ongoing recruitment exercise.

As the recruitment portal closed earlier this month, an astounding 416,270 Nigerian youths met the initial requirements for the upcoming stage of the exercise. This pool of successful applicants comprises 315,065 for General Duty and 101,205 for the specialist cadre.

Anticipating the next phase, successful candidates are expected to receive their letters of invitation on or before December 23, 2023. This stage will encompass both physical and credentials screening, taking place in the applicants’ respective states of origin. The Board emphasizes the necessity for candidates to bring original copies of their certificates, along with letters of attestation from Local Government Chairmen and/or traditional rulers.

The subsequent stages of the recruitment process include a computer-based test (CBT), scheduled after the screening exercise, followed by a medical examination. Dates for these stages will be announced in due course.

Kaduna State leads the pack with 31,117 successful applicants, followed by Adamawa (29,848), Benue (25,346), Borno (24,854), Katsina (24,239), and Bauchi (22,958). Noteworthy states with high successful applicants include Kano (21,006), Niger (17,959), Gombe (17,493), Yobe (17,207), Nasarawa (16,284), Jigawa (16,007), Taraba (15,622), Plateau (15,389), and Kebbi (12,917).

Conversely, Anambra State with 1,141 has the lowest number of successful applicants nationwide, followed by Ebonyi (1,537), Lagos (1,775), and Abia (2,110).

The Board emphasizes that candidates must conduct themselves in a manner befitting Nigerian youths aspiring for a career in the Nigeria Police Force, an institution governed by strict laws and regulations, with discipline as its bedrock.

A stern warning is issued against fraudsters promising assistance in exchange for payments. The entire recruitment exercise is free and will be strictly based on merit and performance at each stage.
