Azeez Ololade Ijaduade, a prominent Nigerian actor, movie director, and producer, has reportedly fallen victim to a gunshot wound inflicted by a trigger-happy police officer in Iperu, Ogun State. Currently, he is in critical condition at the Babcock University Teaching Hospital.
This distressing incident was brought to light through an Instagram story shared by Ijaduade’s colleague, Abiodun Adebanjo, using the handle @iamabiodunadebanjo. The midnight post urgently appealed for help, disclosing the actor’s dire situation and identifying him as the victim of a shooting by a member of the Nigeria Police.
Adebanjo’s Instagram story read, “Please, we need help in Iperu. My director, Azeez Ijaduade, @kingzeez1, was shot by a Nigeria Police personnel. He is presently at Babcock University Teaching Hospital. Anybody with the contacts of the Police IG or Commissioner should reach out.”
As of now, additional details regarding the circumstances of the incident are scarce. Attempts to reach out to the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, for more information were unsuccessful in the early hours of Sunday.
Further updates on the situation are expected shortly.
