BUA Chairman Affirms Cement Price at N3,500 Nationwide from January

BUA Group Chairman, Alhaji Abdul-Samad Rabiu, has affirmed the company’s commitment to maintaining the cement price at N3,500 nationwide starting January 2024. Rabiu revealed this assurance during a conversation with State House Correspondents after a visit to President Bola Tinubu in Lagos on Thursday. The purpose of his visit was to extend festive greetings for Christmas and the New Year. Rabiu expressed satisfaction with the President’s relaxed and well-rested demeanor during their meeting.

In the face of various challenges, Rabiu emphasized the company’s dedication to ensuring the accessibility and affordability of the product for customers. The fixed price of N3,500 per bag, excluding VAT at the factory, will vary based on the delivery location and distance. BUA Group operates factories in Edo and Sokoto states, considering factors like distance when delivering cement to regions such as Lagos, Adamawa, or Maiduguri.

Rabiu assured that despite potential price adjustments due to distance and location, the company is committed to honoring its promise. He highlighted the upcoming inauguration of the Sokoto factory in January 2024, expected to significantly impact the market with a combined annual volume of approximately six million tonnes. Despite facing certain challenges, Rabiu expressed confidence in addressing and resolving these issues.
