Nursing Students Beg Zamfara Govt For Financial Support

The Nigeria Universities Nursing Students Association in Zamfara State has raised significant concerns about the current state of education and well-being. The association hopes that the present administration, led by Governor Dr. Dauda Lawal, will give serious consideration to the following issues:

Clinical Allowances: One of the primary challenges faced by nursing students is financial strain due to the delayed disbursement of clinical allowances. The association urgently requests the government to prioritize the timely release of clinical allowances. This measure aims to alleviate the financial burdens on these students, enabling them to concentrate more on their studies.

According to Kabiru Muhammad, the Secretary of the Local Chapter of the Nigeria Universities Students Association, nursing students have undergone numerous verification exercises since the previous administration, with little to no improvement or implementation. He pleads with His Excellency, Governor Dr. Dauda Lawal, to leverage his efforts in exploring and expanding scholarship opportunities. This would ensure that deserving students can pursue their studies without financial constraints.

While expressing gratitude for the efforts of the government under the leadership of Governor Dauda Lawal, the association notes with concern that nursing students have yet to experience the benefits promised by this administration.

“We recognize the challenges faced by the government in meeting the diverse needs of the populace. However, we feel compelled to highlight the specific challenges faced by nursing students in our state. Despite our dedication to our studies and the crucial role we play in healthcare, we have not observed tangible support or assistance from the government,” says Kabiru Muhammad. The association looks forward to positive interventions and support that will enhance the educational experience of nursing students in Zamfara State.
