A political Pressure Group, the Actualization of Good Leadership Forum, North East has adjudged Senator Shehu Buba Umar representing Bauchi south senatorial district in the Senate as the Best Representative in the sub-region in terms of democracy dividends provision to constituents dates back to 1999 of the present dispensation.
The forum noted with delight that Senator Umar has within his 100 days in the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria performed wonderfully in offering services to his constituents in the seven Local Government Areas of Bauchi, Toro, Alkaleri, Kirfi, Dass, Bogoro, and Tafawa Balewa that comprised his senatorial district.
The zonal forum chairman, Comrade Muhammad Salisu Sulaiman while speaking with journalists in Bauchi on Sunday, said, “We are gingering Distinguished Shehu Buba Umar as the best Senator in Bauchi state ever since the enthronement of the nascent democracy from 1999 to date based on his dodged services to his constituents”.
According to the forum, Senator Shehu Umar is the only Senator of his ilk who opened seven offices in each of the seven LGAs constituting his senatorial district, and formed a committee of 10 persons in each of the electoral ward of his district with the responsibilities of forwarding complaints of constituents to the respective Local Government Area constituency offices.
Comrade Muhammad Sulaiman revealed, “Within 100 days as s Senator, Shehu Buga Umar wade’s in the farmers/ herders clash through the demarcation of cattle routes to forestall cattle farmlands encroachment thereby creating peaceful co-existence environment for the hitherto two warring parties.”
Sulaiman said that the Senator also put in motion a machinery that worked tirelessly in bringing the APC members that have prior to the 2023 polls defected as result of primaries and party leadership elections back into the fold of ruling party at the centre.
These, the forum chairman said, were in addition to the provision of other dividends of democracy such as the provision of economic empowerment, jobs creation, footing of constituents medical bills, as well as the opening of constituency office in the cosmopolitan heart of FCT Abuja where he sits after legislative duties for any incoming complaints from his Bauchi constituents.
