BREAKING: Fatal Accident in Sokoto Deputy Gov’s Convoy Claims Two Lives

On Wednesday evening, a tragic accident occurred in Sokoto State involving the convoy of Deputy Governor Idris Gobir, resulting in the loss of two lives.

According to an anonymous source, a police vehicle in the convoy, carrying a police officer and photographer Buhari Tanko, was involved in the accident. The source confirmed that both the unidentified police officer and photographer Tanko lost their lives at the scene.

Expressing sadness over the incident, the source stated, “I just confirmed that the vehicle that had the accident is a police vehicle in which the photographer was together with them in the vehicle when the incident happened. It is very sad and unfortunate.”

Meanwhile, Governor Ahmed Sokoto, accompanied by the deputy governor, led another delegation to Sabon Birni on official duty.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ahmed Rufa’i, confirmed the incident, specifying that it occurred with a pilot vehicle in the deputy governor’s convoy. He reported, “The incident involved a pilot vehicle on the convoy of the deputy governor, and the driver of the vehicle, a police officer, was confirmed dead, along with one person, a photographer in the convoy.”

Injured individuals from the accident are currently receiving treatment at the Usman Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital in Sokoto. The tragic incident unfolded as the convoy was returning from Sabon Birni Local Government to Sokoto.
