NIMC Issues Directive For All Staff To Obtain NINs Before January 31 Deadline

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has instructed its staff to acquire their National Identity Numbers (NINs) by January 31, 2024.

A circular signed by Rhoda Jackden (Mrs), Deputy Director/Head of Human Capital Management Department, highlighted the importance of complying with the NIMC ACT No 23 of 2007, emphasizing that having the NIN is a mandatory requirement.

Failure to obtain the NIN may result in staff being ineligible for training and facing disciplinary action.

The circular concluded by setting January 31, 2024, as the deadline for staff to obtain their NINs.

NIMC recently reported that the number of Nigerians with NINs reached 104.16 million by the end of December 2023.
