BREAKING: Supreme Court Upholds Hyacinth Alia’s Victory in Gubernatorial Election

In a decisive ruling today, the Supreme Court dismissed the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate, Titus Uba, challenging the outcome of the Benue governorship election.

Previously, both the governorship election petition tribunal and the court of appeal in Abuja had already affirmed Hyacinth Alia as the duly elected governor of Benue state.

Unsatisfied with the previous judgments, Titus Uba sought recourse in the apex court for a reconsideration of the case.

Hyacinth Alia, a Catholic priest, had also been officially recognized with a certificate of return by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The INEC Returning Officer, Prof. Faruk Kuta, declared that the APC candidate secured 473,933 votes, defeating his closest rival, Titus Uba of the Peoples Democratic Party, who garnered 223,914 votes.

Stay tuned for more details as the story develops.
