Breaking:Bandits Kidnap Soldier and Innocent Commuters in Northern Nigeria

Senator Shehu Sani reported a distressing incident on the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway. Bandits intercepted and kidnapped numerous passengers near Kateri village around 9 pm on Sunday night, causing a major security concern.

According to Senator Sani, the security situation prompted two politicians, one from the ruling party and the other from the opposition, to flee through the bush reminiscent of Usain Bolt. Despite the unsettling event, the Senator noted an increased security presence along the route compared to previous times.

As of now, the exact number of abducted passengers remains unclear, adding to the urgency of the situation. Additionally, a soldier identified as Lance Corporal Chinedu Jerry was disclosed to be among those kidnapped, according to a social media post by a blogger known as Naija Hub. The plea for assistance and awareness for the abducted soldier’s situation has been shared online in hopes of reaching his family.

The incident raises concerns about the ongoing security challenges in the Kaduna axis, emphasizing the need for swift and effective measures to address and curtail such acts of banditry along critical transportation routes.
