Wike Acknowledges Tinubu’s Bold Risk In Appointing Him As FCT Minister

This statement by Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), highlights the political dynamics and challenges he faced upon his appointment by President Bola Tinubu. Wike acknowledges that Tinubu took a significant risk in appointing him as the FCT Minister, noting that there was opposition and protests against the decision.

Wike emphasizes the importance of moving forward for the interest of the state and the nation. He urges the people to accept the decision made by President Buhari, acknowledging that while it may not be the best option, there is no alternative. Wike also expresses gratitude to the Speaker and other members for respecting the President’s decision without attaching any conditions.

In addressing accusations of betrayal from some quarters, Wike asserts that he did not betray the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Instead, he claims that he and others stood firm in their principles and decisions, ensuring that certain conditions were met before taking certain actions.

Overall, Wike calls for unity and support for the President, emphasizing the need to work together regardless of political affiliations for the progress of the country.
