The apex bank has taken decisive action to ensure the stability and continuity of the affected institutions in the wake of the restructuring.
The appointments are effective immediately, as announced in a statement by CBN’s Acting Director of Corporate Communications, Mrs. Hakama Sidi-Ali, issued in the early hours of today.
The appointed leaders for each bank are as follows:
- Yetunde Oni as Union Bank’s Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, with Mannir Ubali Ringim as Executive Director.
- Hassa Imam takes on the role of Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer for Keystone Bank, with Chioma A. Many serving as its Executive Director.
- Polaris Bank sees Lawal Mudathir Omokayode Akintola as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer and Chris Onyeka Ofikulu as Executive Director.
Ms. Sidi-Ali emphasized, “The appointments take immediate effect,” highlighting the CBN’s commitment to swift action and minimizing disruption.
She stated, “This move to reinstate leadership in the affected banks underscores the CBN’s prioritization of maintaining confidence and stability in the financial system.”
