2027 Election: Atiku, Obi, Kwankwaso Have Agreed To Form Merger Party

As the 2027 general elections loom on the horizon, key political figures such as Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rabiu Kwankwaso are reportedly in talks to form a strategic coalition. According to political economist Professor Pat Utomi, who confirmed the plans in an exclusive interview on Channels Television, these leaders, who were candidates in the 2023 presidential election, have agreed to create a powerful alliance. The envisioned coalition involves parties like the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Labour Party (LP), and the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

Responding to questions about the nature of this collaboration, Professor Utomi emphasized that it marks a fresh start rather than a mere merger. He critiqued the existing political landscape in Nigeria, stating that since 1999, the country hasn’t witnessed the emergence of genuine political parties. Instead, platforms have been created to facilitate machine politics, often for the purpose of state capture. Utomi urged an honest assessment of how much the average Nigerian’s quality of life has improved over the past decades.

The announcement of this coalition signals a shift in political dynamics, aiming to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). As preparations unfold, the leaders involved, including Atiku, Obi, and Kwankwaso, are anticipated to redefine the political landscape in their pursuit of a more effective and responsive governance structure. The move towards a coalition marks a notable development, and the unfolding discussions will undoubtedly shape the political narrative leading up to the 2027 elections.
