Palliatives: Jigawa Govt To Disburse ₦10,000 To Disabled Group

The Jigawa state government has concluded plans to begin disbursement of cash allowances to 5,500 physically challenged group as monthly stipends across the state.

Hon commissioner for information, culture, youths and sports Sagir Musa disclosed this to journalists in Dutse shortly after state executive council meeting.

The commissioner noting that the disabled social security program got legislative backing that everyone enrolled are entitled to monthly allowances as a life support to ease poverty, frustration and unemployment among the Said group.

Meanwhile the state information commissioner, noted that following recent assessment of the initiatives, significant segments of the initial beneficiaries had been affected by death years ago.

The commissioner equally mentioned that comprehensive social register has also been redesigned to capture all the disabled groups across the state together with their respective needs for more targeted and sustainable economic support

The Commissioner, equally indicated that Governor Umar Namadi out of his passion to support the disabled group to have ease of life and to get sense of belongings as well as governor’s commitment to ensuring eradication of poverty through social security and empowerment initiatives across the state, said the commissioner.
