A private jet, carrying approximately 10 individuals, including Very Important Personalities (VIPs), crash-landed in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State. The incident occurred on Friday around 11 am at the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport.
The jet, identified by registration number N580KR, veered off the runway and landed in a nearby bush. Immediate response from firefighters and rescue teams from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) prevented any casualties or fatalities.
“It was a private plane from Abuja. It landed safely but overshot the runway. There was no casualty,” stated Carol Adekotujo, a spokesperson for the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
Tunji Oketunmbi, spokesperson for the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), confirmed the incident. Further details will be provided shortly.
