Effective January, Commissioner Sagir Musa has declared the initiation of a wage award for personnel in the state, local government, and local education authority payroll. The specified amount, totaling N10,000 per person, will be disbursed monthly from January through March this year.
Musa expounded on the decision, stating, “Following discussions on the memorandum submitted by the State Head of Civil Service (HOS) at the state executive council meeting, chaired by Governor Malam Umar Namadi.”
“The disbursement is contingent upon the eventual enactment of a new national minimum wage and additional relief measures.”
Recall that the Federal Government and Trade Union Congress (TUC) have concurred on a N35,000 wage award for civil servants, a resolution reached in the aftermath of the fuel subsidy removal.
