Reps Urge FG To Utilize Grain Reserves For Food Distribution To Nigerians

In response to the widespread hunger across the nation, the House of Representatives has issued a directive urging the Federal Government to promptly tap into the grain reserves and provide essential grains to vulnerable Nigerians.

The motion of national urgent importance was put forth by Mr. Ibrahim Isiaka, representing the Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency in Ogun State, and was unanimously supported by the House.

During the deliberation, Isiaka emphasized the escalating challenges faced by Nigerians due to the soaring cost of living. He particularly highlighted the exorbitant prices of essential commodities like cement, despite the country’s abundant raw materials for its production.

In light of these pressing concerns, the House emphasized the critical need for immediate action to alleviate hunger and food insecurity. The resolution called upon the Federal Government and relevant stakeholders to expedite the opening of food reserves and initiate widespread distribution efforts.

Additionally, the House underscored the importance of bolstering food production and enhancing distribution channels to ensure sustained access to essential supplies for all citizens.

Further details on this development will be provided as they emerge.
