Admission Scandal: ICPC Witness Exposes UNICAL Professor’s Alleged Demand for Virginity

In the trial of Professor Cyril Ndifon, suspended Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Calabar (UNICAL), a startling testimony emerged detailing allegations of sexual harassment and exploitation. The witness, identified as TKJ, recounted her harrowing experiences, alleging that Prof. Ndifon pressured her to exchange her virginity for admission into the institution. TKJ described instances where she was allegedly approached by Prof. Ndifon, who made unwelcome advances and demanded sexual favors in exchange for academic opportunities. These accusations have ignited public outrage and raised serious concerns about the safety and integrity of educational environments.

During her testimony, TKJ provided chilling details of the alleged encounters, including instances where Prof. Ndifon purportedly requested nude videos and photographs from her. She claimed that the professor’s advances escalated to the point where he attempted to engage in sexual acts against her will. The witness’s account painted a distressing picture of the abuse of power and authority within academic circles, highlighting the vulnerability of students to exploitation and coercion.

The prosecution, led by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), presented TKJ’s testimony as crucial evidence in the ongoing trial against Prof. Ndifon. The case underscores the urgent need for accountability and justice in addressing instances of sexual misconduct within educational institutions. It also serves as a reminder of the importance of creating safe and supportive environments for students, free from harassment and abuse.

As the trial continues, there is a growing call for thorough investigations and appropriate disciplinary actions to be taken against perpetrators of sexual harassment in academia. The outcome of this case will not only impact the lives of those directly involved but also shape the broader conversation surrounding the prevention and response to such misconduct in educational settings.
