Maulud Celebration Inspires Leaders’ Dedication To Public Service – VP Shettima

Abuja, Saturday – Vice President Kashim Shettima emphasized the imperative of reinvigorating leaders’ commitment to public service, as he spoke at the commemoration of the Maulud, an Islamic festival, held at the Moshood Abiola Stadium.

Joined by prominent figures including Sheikh Muhammad Sanusi II and Minister for Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, Vice President Shettima underscored the significance of the 38th anniversary of the Sheikh Ibrahim Niass Alkaulakhy National Maulud. The event, marking the birth of Sheikh Ibrahim Inyass, served as a platform for prayers for Nigeria’s peace and unity.

Delivering his address themed ‘Serving Humanity’, Vice President Shettima asserted, “This occasion serves as a reminder to renew our dedication to embodying the ethos of serving humanity. Our path forward is one of integrity, bolstered by the enduring support and understanding of our citizens.”

Reflecting on the teachings of the Holy Prophet regarding leaders’ responsibilities, the Vice President highlighted the sacred nexus between faith and political leadership. “Every leader is bound by a profound duty to promote the welfare of those they serve. This forms the essence of our collective mission,” he affirmed.

He emphasized the pivotal role of unity among leaders in effecting positive change, stating, “In times of jubilation or adversity, the cohesion of leadership becomes a potent catalyst for progress. It is within this convergence that we discover common ground to empathize with our people’s aspirations, joys, and challenges.”

Urging adherents of various religious faiths to foster mutual understanding, Vice President Shettima appealed for concerted efforts to bridge divides and combat misinformation. “To truly honor the legacy of Rasul, we must embody the noble directive of being the ‘best of people’ by maximizing benefits for our society,” he urged.

Highlighting the importance of tolerance and collaboration in fostering a cohesive nation, Vice President Shettima stressed the imperative of transforming Nigeria into an inclusive and prosperous society. “Irrespective of one’s religious or ethnic affiliation, we are all susceptible to the repercussions of disorder, poverty, or insecurity,” he cautioned.

The event also witnessed the presence of Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Bagudu, alongside other religious leaders, further emphasizing the collective commitment to national harmony and progress.
