Teachers’ Professional Salary Structure Excluded from 2024 Budget, Says NUT

Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Highlights Exclusion of Teachers’ Professional Salary Structure from 2024 Budget

During the solemn assembly at the NUT secretariat in Abuja, National President Titus Amba expressed concern over the absence of the restructured professional salary structure for teachers in the 2024 budget.

The union persists in advocating for its implementation and calls for the removal of restrictions hindering primary school teachers’ progression beyond Grade Level 14.

Additionally, Amba emphasized the necessity of a constitutional amendment to prioritize funding for primary and secondary education, aiming to rectify irregular salary payments for teachers nationwide.

Despite promises made under former President Buhari’s administration, the awaited salary adjustments have yet to materialize, prompting the NUT to continue its efforts towards realization.
