Zamfara: Police Arrest Ex-military Officer Supplying Uniforms To Bello Turji, Others

The Nigerian Police have apprehended a former officer of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) for his involvement in supplying military gear to bandits wreaking havoc in Zamfara State.

Identified as Ahmed Mohammed, the dismissed officer, previously stationed at the Air Force Base in Kaduna, engaged in this illicit activity after being court-martialled following a undisclosed military offense.

Police spokesperson ACP Muyiwa Adejobi disclosed that Mohammed collaborated with Mushiri Abubakar to distribute military attire to criminal factions, including notorious bandit Bello Turji and his cohorts.

During a recent operation, law enforcement intercepted Mohammed and Abubakar transporting a cache of military gear, including camouflage uniforms, camel packs, hats, cardigans, T-shirts, belts, and anklets, from Kaduna to Zamfara.

Adejobi emphasized the necessity of dismantling such syndicates supplying arms and ammunition to bandits to curtail their criminal activities.
