Food Security: Tinubu, Brazilian President Forge Agricultural Partnership

President Bola Tinubu has initiated talks with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to enhance agricultural collaboration between Nigeria and Brazil, aiming to rejuvenate bilateral relations.

During their meeting in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, both leaders discussed the potential for comprehensive cooperation across various sectors, emphasizing the need to strengthen ties.

Tinubu highlighted Nigeria’s economic progress and commitment to removing obstacles to business, emphasizing investments in critical sectors like healthcare, education, and agriculture to ensure sustained prosperity.

Echoing Tinubu’s sentiments, President Lula da Silva expressed his eagerness to restore robust relations, citing historical trade volumes and emphasizing the need for stronger ties.

The leaders identified areas of immediate focus, including solid mineral exploration, agriculture, education, and healthcare, and pledged to establish direct air links between the two countries.

They agreed to form joint committees to develop action plans and explore opportunities for collaboration, with President Tinubu accepting an invitation for a state visit to Brazil in the near future.
