During a Public Wealth Management conference in Abuja, Vice President Kashim Shettima disclosed the recent interception of 45 trucks transporting maize to neighboring countries.
The VP highlighted the prevalence of illegal smuggling routes, citing 32 routes in the Ilela axis alone.
Following the interception, the price of maize dropped by N10,000, from N60,000 to N50,000.
Shettima voiced concerns about efforts to undermine the government and urged Nigerians to unite.
